Maridebart Cafraglutide in Heart Failure With Preserved or Mildly Reduced Ejection Fraction and Obesity

Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction ยท Heart Failure With Mildly Reduced Ejection Fraction ยท Obesity

This trial will examine if maridebart cafraglutide as an adjunct to standard of care will lead to a reduction in heart failure (HF) events such as HF hospitalizations and urgent HF visits, cardiovascular (CV) deaths and improvement in HF symptoms in participants with HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and HF with mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF) who are obese. This is a phase 3, global, multicenter, 2-part trial with a double-blind period and an open-label extension (OLE). The trial is event-driven, and Part 1 will conclude when approximately 850 primary endpoint events have occurred.

Puberty, Diabetes, and the Kidneys, When Eustress Becomes Distress (PANTHER Study)

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus ยท Diabetic Kidney Disease ยท Adolescent Obesity

Early diabetic kidney disease (DKD) occurs in 50-70% of youth with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and confers high lifetime risk of dialysis and premature death. Youth-onset T2D typically manifests during or shortly after puberty in adolescents with obesity. Epidemiological data implicate puberty as an accelerator of kidney disease in youth with obesity and diabetes and the investigators posit that the link between puberty and T2D-onset may explain the high burden of DKD in youth-onset T2D. A better understanding of the impact of puberty on kidney health is needed to promote preservation of native kidney function, especially in youth with T2D.

Remotely Delivered, Community-Aligned Weight Loss Interventions Among Breast Cancer Survivors, ยกVida! Trial

Anatomic Stage I Breast Cancer AJCC v8 ยท Anatomic Stage II Breast Cancer AJCC v8 ยท Anatomic Stage III Breast Cancer AJCC v8

This clinical trial evaluates remotely delivered, community-aligned weight loss interventions in Latina breast cancer survivors. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women in the US. There are population differences in breast cancer mortality, based on specific risk factors, including obesity. Cancer is the leading cause of death among Latinos, and among Latinas, breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death. An estimated 80% of Latinas in the United States have overweight/obesity, which is associated with poorer breast cancer outcomes. However, few, if any, effective interventions exist to promote and maintain weight loss in Latina breast cancer survivors. The development of an adaptive program that provides survivors with the support they need, as opposed to what is typically available, to improve breast cancer survivorship.
