Telerehabilitation In The Home After Stroke

Stroke

The purpose of this research study is to evaluate whether telerehabilitation targeting arm movement, when added to usual care, improves arm function and reduces global disability after stroke, compared to usual care alone. Patients with arm weakness due to stroke that happened in the past 90-150 days will be randomized into one of two groups: \[1\] TR and usual care; \[2\] usual care only (no TR), but people in the usual care group will be offered TR once the study is done. TR consists of 70 minutes/day of activities targeting arm function, 6 days a week for 6 weeks.

Saline Enhanced Radiofrequency (SERF) Needle Ablation for Refractory VT

Refractory Ventricular Tachycardia

The Thermedical Ablation System and Durablate catheter is indicated for use in patients with recurrent, sustained, monomorphic ventricular tachycardia (SMVT) refractory to drug therapy and conventional (approved) catheter ablation. Subjects with recurrent, SMVT refractory to drug therapy and conventional catheter ablation who are not eligible for, or will not likely benefit from repeat endocardial ablation using an approved catheter.

Pivotal Study for the Cardiac Performance System (CPS)

Cardiovascular Diseases

This multi-center, observational study evaluates the accuracy of the Cardiac Performance System (CPS), a non-invasive device, for measuring hemodynamic parameters in adult patients undergoing clinically indicated right heart catheterization. The study compares CPS measurements to invasive measurements to assess agreement and potential clinical utility.

Testing the Use of Combination Therapy in Adult Patients With Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma, the EQUATE Trial

Plasma Cell Myeloma ยท RISS Stage I Plasma Cell Myeloma ยท RISS Stage II Plasma Cell Myeloma

This phase III trial compares the combination of four drugs (daratumumab, bortezomib, lenalidomide and dexamethasone) to the use of a three drug combination (daratumumab, lenalidomide and dexamethasone). Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Chemotherapy drugs, such as lenalidomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Daratumumab is a monoclonal antibody that may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Anti-inflammatory drugs, such as dexamethasone lower the body's immune response and are used with other drugs in the treatment of some types of cancer. Adding bortezomib to daratumumab, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone may be more effective in shrinking the cancer or preventing it from returning, compared to continuing on daratumumab, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone.

A Dose-masked Study of Intravitreal EYE103 in Participants With NVAMD or Macular Edema Following BRVO

Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration (NVAMD) ยท Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (BRVO)

EYE-RES-104 is a randomized, dose-masked study of intravitreal EYE103 in participants with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (NVAMD) or macular edema following branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). The study will consist of 4 patient cohorts, with participants in each cohort randomized (1:1) to either a low dose of EYE103 via IVT or a high dose of EYE103 via IVT. 40 participants will be enrolled in each cohort. Enrollment timing for each cohort will be sequenced into specific arms of the study at the Sponsor's discretion. All participants in the study will receive a total of 3 injections of EYE103 into the study eye, spaced at 4 weeks apart. All participants will return at designated time points following each injection for safety and efficacy assessments. The Week 12 Visit will serve as the end of study visit for all participants.

Beneficial or Fostering Future Struggles (B.F.F.s)? Characterizing the Role of Friends in the Development of 13- to 17-Year-Old Adolescents

Child Maltreatment ยท Interpersonal Relations ยท Victimisation

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate how the friendship experiences of maltreated (i.e., abused and/or neglected) and non-maltreated adolescents differentially influence their risk for adverse outcomes. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. How do the friendships of maltreated adolescents differ from those of non-maltreated adolescents? 2. Which friendship experiences influence the associations between maltreatment and ability to regulate stress, as well as future mental health difficulties and revictimization? Participants will: * Attend the initial study visit on the campus of the University of South Carolina with their primary caregiver and a best friend during which they will: * Complete study questionnaires * Be connected to a device that records their physical ability to manage stress * Complete a task during which they will be audio and video recorded and complete a brief assessment rating how they are feeling at different times during task completion * Depending on which research group they are placed in, be assigned to discuss their experience doing this task with their friend (intervention group) or sit quietly in a room for 5 minutes (comparison group) * The follow-up study visit will involve completion of study questionnaires online or via mail 6 months later Additionally, the participant's caregiver and friend will complete study questionnaires. Researchers will compare the intervention group (debriefs with a friend) and comparison group (sits quietly for 5 minutes) to see if the presence of and discussion with the friend influences their physical ability to regulate stress and future outcomes.

Combining rTMS & Aerobic Exercise to Treat Depression and Improve Post-Stroke Walking

Stroke ยท Depression - Major Depressive Disorder ยท Walking Impairment

Investigators primary aim is to carry out a two-site, randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled, phase II trial to systematically examine the potential for aerobic exercise (AEx) to enhance the anti-depressant benefits of rTMS in individuals with post-stroke depression (PSD). Investigators propose to determine the efficacy of combining two known anti-depressant treatments shown to be effective in non-stroke depression, aerobic exercise (AEx) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), on post-stroke depressive symptoms. This project is based on the idea that depression negatively affects the potential for the brain to adapt in response to treatment such that rehabilitation may not produce the same changes that it does in non-depressed individuals. Investigators believe that effective treatment for PSD will result in a virtuous cycle whereby reducing depression enhances response to rehabilitation, thereby facilitating functional gains. That is, effectively treating depression will enable individuals to better recover from stroke.

Telerehabilitation for Aphasia (TERRA)

Aphasia ยท Stroke ยท Stroke Rehabilitation

Speech-language therapy is generally found to be helpful in the rehabilitation of aphasia. However, not all patients with aphasia have access to adequate treatment to maximize their recovery. The goal of this project is to compare the efficacy of telerehabilitation or Aphasia Remote Therapy (ART) to the more traditional In-Clinic Therapy (I-CT).

At-Home taVNS - Stroke Rehab

Stroke ยท Stroke, Ischemic ยท Stroke Hemorrhagic

Early evidence suggests the benefits of post-stroke motor rehabilitation may be enhanced by applying electrical stimulation to the ear. This study aims to test the new approach of pairing ear stimulation with motor rehabilitation in the home setting in stroke survivors with upper limb motor function deficits.
